The New Tea Party Aristocracy

If anyone remembers history they will remember the French Revolution and the French Aristocracy where the disparity between the rich and the working class reached a pinnacle and the rebellion of the people was a blood-lust where the world learned of a new device called the guillotine.  The French people overthrew their ancient government in 1789. They took as their slogan the famous phrase"Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite"--Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. Equality, or doing away with privilege, was the most important part of the slogan to the French revolutionists.  What is happening in America right now has some frightening similarities.  The rich have become ultra rich and now the United States Supreme court and created the most frightening new Aristocrat of all called Corporate Person-hood.  This new Aristocrat called MR, Corporate Person-hood has been embraced by the GOP Tea Party Republicans with a passion.  They want to make Mr.Corporate Person-hood their very best friend.  In the past the GOP Republicans have had other friends like the Mr.Middle Class and Mr.Upper Middle Class but they have been left behind.  Now they have their best friend who treats them really, really well. MR, Corporate Person-hood give them a lot of money and power which they do not want to loose.  They have for the last forty years wages war on the very people they are supposed to be representing.  The most recent attacks have been by GOP Tea Party Republican governors who have taken away the rights of workers in order to serve their new best friend MR, Corporate Person-hood.  The new GOP Tea Party Republicans have now begun their attacks on the elderly and poorest Americans by destroying Social Security and Medicare as we know it.  Some states have had devastating storms, floods, and fires and the GOP Tea Party Republicans have chosen not to help but to harm by holding the American people hostage once again.  They have held up funds to FEMA unless cuts are made to fund programs that create much needed jobs.  The new GOP Tea Party Republicans continue to enrich themselves and build their power with their friend MR, Corporate Person-hood while Americans continue to suffer.  How long will it be until America has a new revolution?  My hope is that in 2012 these new Tea Party Aristocrats are swept away and a wave of Progressive Democrats come in.  America needs Progressives that can stand up against the new Tea Party Aristocracy and their new friend MR, Corporate Person-hood.  In this Progressive Democrats opinion MR. Corporate Person-hood needs to face the guillotine.  America needs jobs not more cuts to anything and everything just so the GOP Tea Party Republicons can beat Obama.  I was talking to a friend of mine and sadly it became clear he was one that was on the Tea Party side.  He said he hated Obama and all the problems were Obama's fault.  As we talked and I started asking him questions and going through problems and policies one at a time he agreed with me on almost every one.  The Policies of Obama and the Democrats were the right way to go but, in the end said basically, too bad Obama isn't white.  I believe unfortunately even in 2011 that color can trump all, even sanity in the minds of some racist Americans.

The Rand Paul Radical Deficit Cuts!

Rand Paul is asking for big donations from middle class Americans while at the same time cutting their throats.

Look at the list of cuts below and ask yourself where is the sacrifice from the rich and powerful?  Where is the help from the Wall Street brokers that are getting the big Bonuses?  Just today Eric Cantor walked out of the "Bi-Partisan" talks to cut the deficit because Biden said OK we are giving some, Now it's your turn.  But Nope, GOP Tea Party Republicans are saying NO to any shared sacrifice.  The middle class has to bear ALL the burden that the GOP Tea Party Republicans are going to heap upon the American middle class.  They won't even consider closing loopholes to big oil.  Let's walk through his cuts.

Rand Paul: "Specifically, my Cut Federal Spending Act reduces funding for the:"

*  Department of Agriculture by over $42 billion.

OK maybe there are reasonable subsidies that can be cut.  I bet this also cuts Food Safety Inspectors.

*  Department of Transportation by over $42 billion.

Red Flag here.  Cuts to DOT means cuts directly to safety.  This means fewer weigh station inspections.  More overweight and illeagle trucks on the highways and freeways deteriorating them faster.  This means fewer State Troopers to check for tired or drugged truck drivers.  

*  Department of Energy by over $27 billion.

He wants to cut the very thing that will bring about new prosperity.  We need to INVEST in Energy NOT cut it.

*  Department of Health and Human Services by over $26 billion.

Yes lets cut where it will hurt the middle class and the poor the most.  All those people that have been forclosed on and lost jobs will now have even fewer options to get by.  What happens to them.  All just so the rich can keep those Bush tax cuts that were supposed to create jobs but didn't

*  TSA by almost $1 billion.

What happened to Home Land Security?  Who will be inspecting Airports, Trains, and Ports of entry.  These ideas are really scary.

*  Housing and Urban Development entirely, excluding veteran housing programs.

We can afford to pay Wall Street Bankers, and the rich but not the middle class and the poor.  We have to attack them and take away the only tool there is to keep decent wages (Collective Barganing) 

*  Department of Justice by over $9 billion.

How does that work?

*  Department of State by over $20 billion.

My proposal is accomplished entirely without touching Social Security or Medicare, and believe it or not, still leaves 85% of government funding in place.

Not a word about creating jobs that would bring IN revenue (tax dollars).

It is the same old story over and over from the GOP Tea Party Republicans,  Yes we made mistakes that drove the country into this horrible situation and now you should trust us.  You can trust them alright.  You can trust that  they will give the rich that bought them the tax breaks and YOU will pay for ALL of it.

2010 Was A Tough Year. What's Next?

It seems like Americans could not catch a break in 2010.  The market collapse that began in 2007 is still holding us all back.  Our government did some things right trying to keep us from going into an all out depression but did many things wrong.  TARP and the stimulus package was the right idea but the banks should have been forced to modify the mortgages for people to allow them to stay in their homes.  Instead it was left up to them to do the right thing.  They didn't.  The stimulus money should have been put into the infrastructure of our country in a much bigger way.  Building electric speed trains, a new electrical grid, solar, wind, electric cars, and other green energies with a national transition to a green economy would create thousands of jobs with equipment built here in America.  But the transition is coming much too slow.  Power hungry Republicans have blocked every attempt to spur the green economy with the filibuster rule that requires 60 votes instead of a majority vote.  The GOP flooded the our elections with TV commercials that at minimum twisted the truth or just spread outright lies.   money from large corporations and even organizations from outside our country.  It is an outrage how right wing republicans and the Tea Party people have lied to the American people.  On top of all that there was the biggest oil spill in history, and the mining disaster.  It is really difficult for the American people to get the truth about what is happening in DC when we have the right wing propaganda machine Fox News and 90% of talk radio spewing out lies to America.  Watch this video about a study on Fox News viewers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBA61YrA68Q&feature=related .  Get ready for the next couple of years of things only getting worse for middle class Americans as Reublicans attempt to repeal healthcare, raise the eligibility age on Social Security to seventy or seventy five, stop any investment in building a green infrastructure, strip any meaningful regulations on Wall Street, and basically screw regular working Americans while handing out bonuses to the rich.  You can change this.  Call or write your congress member and tell them you want jobs, a single payer health care system, regulations that stop the banksters from gambling with your mortgage and investments, caps on election spending, candidates to have many more debates in national elections, and the cap on Social Security raised to keep it funded rather than raising the qualification age to 70.  Seventy?  Are you kidding me?  Why not make the qualification death?  What this really does is keep people from retiring and keep them in the workplace, keeping pressure on wages.  Young people will have a harder time getting into the workplace because older people are staying longer.  On top of all that the GOP Republican Tea party people, will do everything they can to STOP any job growth until after the 2012 election cycle so that they can say it's Obama's fault there are no jobs.  So I hope all you hard working regular Americans start to get active and see what the GOP is really got in mind for you.

The Truth Republicans Don't Want You To Know

What are the Death Panels.  Well to start with there is no such thing.  Republicans are really good at making up scary sounding stuff that is NOT true.  What they call "Death Panels" are actually Voluntary conversations that have NOTHING to do with the government.  They are FREEDOM.  THEY ARE YOUR FREEDOM!  Don't you want to make your own decisions of what happens when you are leaving this world and make sure your family and doctor are clear about them?  If you are sick and dying and loose your ability to make decisions about how to handle your death, do you want to make that decision in advance or do you want everyone to guess at it?  Issues like this are why I quit the Republican party and became a Democrat.  I actually voted for Regan.  I didn't realize until years later that he destroyed the American worker by killing the Air Traffic Controller union.  That began the slow spiral down to fewer good jobs, lower wages and fewer benefits for workers.  At the same time the Right wing propagandist really began to pump out the message that unions are BAD and get paid way too much.  Too bad most Americans have bought into it.  For the last thirty years Americans have been getting the shaft without even realizing it.  Here are a few examples:  "We want to cut taxes" (what they don't tell you is they aren't talking about the taxes of the average working person.  They are talking about taxes for huge corporations and the ultra rich),  "Obama Care is Socialism" (It is no more socialism than Social Security or Medicare).  If it had been "Socialism" that would be a GOOD thing because everyone would pay into the healthcare system and lowered the cost for ALL Americans.  Why is that a Bad thing?  Someone please tell me.    There are many more examples of Republicans propaganda but this blog would be way too long.  2011 could be a very tough year.  I hope Americans start to realize that Democrats are on the side of average workers and that the Republicans are NOT.  Republicans only want to help the rich.

Compromise Or Stand On Principal?

The president gives Republicans Billions in tax cuts to the rich to show he is reaching out to Republicans.  Happy now?  Is this what you really want your good Christian Republican leaders with all their high morals to do?  Throw Americans out in the streets with nothing, because there are no jobs, so they can give the ultra rich more money, and increase the debt by BILLIONS!  They are sooo worried about the debt.  So now the rich businessman that has a few billion already, has the Republicans hand him another few million that he/she already had in his/her pocket because the taxes were never taken the last ten years.  They have had the money in their pocket for the last ten years!  Why didn't they create jobs with it?  What will they do with the money?  There is no more demand for their products today than yesterday because regular working folks don't have enough money to feed their families and pay their bills and stay in their homes.  So they are going to keep it and say thanks Uncle Sam!  They are not going to hire people just to have them sit around and in the mean time Americans will be put in seriously desperate circumstances that might force them into homelessness or crime!  Is this really what you want from your government?  I hope the Tea Party sees they are being punked by Republicans!  Is it time to make some sacrifices and stand on the principal that it is WRONG to hold hostage the small amount of money to help struggling Americans?  There would have to be some pain and some sacrifice from all of us but it might be worth it to hold back the sheer greed of the Republican right!  But after much thought I know Republicans will learn nothing and stay as greedy as ever while there will be millions cut off of the small amount of unemployment that keeps them afloat.  Once again the President is correct.  We must allow this completely irresponsible tax cut for the ultra rich that was supposed to end in January continue.  Shame on the Republicans for putting the rich above what is best for America.
